Caine Prize for African Writing

The winner of the Caine Prize for African Writing will be announced at a dinner in Oxford in July, to which the shortlisted candidates are all invited. This is part of a week of activities for the candidates, including book readings, book signings and press opportunities.

The Prize fund has supported writers’ workshops in South Africa, Kenya, Ghana and Cameroon. Oxford-based publisher New Internationalist publishes the Caine prize short story entries each year.
